Cookie Chips Chocolates--Did You Read That Right?

DSCF7725

I just made an amazing little treat and when I say little, I mean these are the smallest little cookies you've ever had!  A most amazing baker, Rita, at Clumbsy Cookie made these CUTE reverse chocolate chip cookies.  She made tiny little cookies and put them in chocolate.  You must go look at her blog with these great treats NOW and get the recipe here.  May be the most fun baked thing I've ever seen!  SO, of course, I had to make these as soon as possible.  The dough is simple as can be, then you just put it in a piping bag and pipe away, and I'm talking pipe, pipe, pipe!  This makes a lot of little cookies.  Here are two trays I made, and didn't even take pictures of the third full tray!  (My props to pipers who pipe--like pastry chefs such as Rita and all cake decorators everywhere!)

I had a little piper helper though.  Taylor stepped in at the last minute and made some, well, some of his look like worms, but at that point, I was happy with the million or so little cookies I had!  (Taylor LOVES to help in the kitchen!)

The cookies bake quickly and cool fast, too.  Melt whatever chocolate you like, I used milk chocolate, then enrobe a bunch of the cookies in the chocolate by carefully folding them in.  Save some for sprinkling on top then refrigerate until firm.  SO easy (at least once you get past the piping!)

If you love a chocolate chip cookie (and who doesn't!), and if you really like them chocolatey, these Cookie Chips Chocolates are for you!

With half of the dough, I decided to try something and I added about 1/2 cup very finely chopped toasted pecans to it before piping the cookies.  Pecans and chocolate just go together!  After adding the cookies to the melted chocolate, I also added some chopped pecans and sprinkled a bit on top.  These are YUMMY!

These are little pieces of heaven, I'm just sure of it!

Let me just sum it up this way:

Katrina - these look delicious -- you certainly are adventuresome. If I could zip my shorts I'd be making them. PS, it's 1/2 cup of vanilla SUGAR in the cobbler recipe. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I left the sugar off. You can use regular plain sugar too. I have got to make something from your blog and I want it to be those great chocolate chip cookies.

Hi! Thanks for the comment on my blog! You have a good one, too and I am going to add you to my Google Reader now. There are quite a few tasty looking treats on here! Those CC cookies were HUGE and yummy looking. And the chicken scampi...Wow! It looked delicious. With regard to my crush...it's a delivery guy that I used to see all the time when I was working and still see around town. Gosh, he's cute and very friendly. Nothing like a little attention to make you still feel like you're cute, you know? Now...you tell me yours!

Okay, I'm back. I just read through pages and pages of your blog and you are quite the baker! Glad you had a good time in NYC and that you got to meet Clay Aiken. I had to laugh about your crush on Bob Barker. I've always thought he was a very sexy older guy. How funny! Looking forward to reading more...
