Tuesdays With Dorie is now three years old. I didn’t join the group until October of 2008, but what a great ride this has been.
I made a half batch of these cookies for New Year’s Eve. I left out the cinnamon and cloves.
I thought the cookies were just okay. (I know, check my forehead. Am I feeling okay?) I decided to spruce them up a bit.
Little drizzle of white chocolate. They certainly looked more festive. Didn’t change the flavor much. Don’t get me wrong. I think they taste good. I guess there’s just other chocolate cookies I like better. Like--
Just to name a few. I also didn’t scarf down a dozen of these cookies (ok, I never do that) because now that the holidays are over, I’m watching a lot more of what I eat for a while, which made me just give these cookies a small taste, so maybe I just didn’t taste enough to really appreciate their most chocolaty-ness. ;)
There’s a reason I continue to bake along with this great group of bloggers and bakers. Besides my love for baking, I love taking this chance to jump out of my chocolate chip cookie/boxed brownies comfort zone. I am certainly thankful to Dorie and Laurie and the others involved in making this opportunity available for so many and I’m happy to be a part of it.
You can find the recipe for these cookies on the Tuesdays With Dorie website.

Oh that would satisfy my chocolate cravings!
The cookies look good, but the variations of chocolate cookies are so endless that all of them can't be favorites. :-) Generally speaking I don't care for cinnamon in my chocolate, I'm not sure what the appeal is. Odd?
Mmm these look delicious. Happy New Year!
I didn't add any clove either.
My son recommended some cayenne.
I liked them.
I love your spruced up version!
Gorgeous, as usual! :)
They certainly look prettier with the white chocolate on them. I didn't think they were spectacular, either. Oh well...at least we tried, right?
Your cookies drizzled with white chocolate are beautiful. Sometimes we get so overloaded with treats during the holidays that they cease to taste so wonderful. Maybe that's what happened with these? They sure look good.
These cookies snuck up on me. I liked them more than I thought I would. Fortunately, I gave most of them away. Happy New Year!
They weren't my favorite, either, but my kids ate them all up!
Yum I love the white chocolate drizzled on top! I want one so bad!!
The drizzle is lovely! Thanks for baking along with us!
well the white chocolate made them look pretty even if it didn't add much taste wise!
So many of us started in Oct/08. I thought these cookies worked with the cinnamon, but your icing is very nice too!
I haven't even tasted mine yet, but I hear ya on the most holiday detox! Love your drizzle though!!
It has been a fun 3 years ( a little less for me...) and great outomes.
Cookies look incredibly moist. Sorry they weren't a hit.
Love how you spruced them up. They look totally cool.
You are hands down the best drizzler ever...I try to drizzle and I just can't get the hang of it, but you are a pro! These look pretty either way. Three years...I think this will bind us together forever, visiting one another's kitchens each week. Can't remember if I wished you all the best in the New Year and for 2011, so consider it done...the best to all of you from all of us!
I thought about putting icing on mine, though I would have just shlocked it on, and you did such a nice job!
These look like lovely little treats- I have my tooth set for something chocolate right now. :)
They look really pretty with the icing on. I didn't make these, but am kind of glad, as they're not getting the best reviews. Hope next week's are better! Happy new year.
:)
Love the drizzle! Happy New Year! Wishing lots of health and happiness this year!
Send them over to me, I'll gladly eat them all up :)
